KIELDER TRAILS
EASY Borderline 7 miles/11km
The majority of this route follows the former Border
Counties railway line (operational from 1862 to 1956)
making it a relatively flat and easy ride suitable for all
abilities of cyclist. The surface is mainly grassy tracks with
occasional stretches on tarmac road.
Starting in Kielder Village, the trail joins the railway just to the west of the old Kielder Station (now part of the garage).The route runs parallel with the River North Tyne and takesyou through open countryside with some fantastic views to the Scottish Border at Deadwater Station. To return to Kielder, retrace tracks to the village.
