KIDS STUFF

The Kielder Calling has something for the whole family to get involved in, and promises to offer an action packed day for everyone. There’s loads of stuff especially for for kids to do and try.

SKILLS LOOP COURSE – is available for all ages (must be able to ride independantly) and will run from 12pm til 4pm on the Castle Wood Skills Loop. A Purple Mountain Instructor who has loads of experience with kids will be on hand to provide instruction and top tips. You can bring your own bike or hire is available from Purple Mountain Bike Centre. Booking is advisable as places are limited and a small charge of £3 for the session is payable to secure your place. All kids will recieve a certificate to show they have taken part and learnt new skills. Helmet must be worn at all times.

LITTLE WHEELIES OBSTACLE COURSE – specially designed for smaller children, this will take place in front of the Purple Mountain Bike Centre and provides a taste of off road biking. There’ll be small obstacles to tackle on an exciting little circuit. Thrills and spills in a fully supervised environment. A Bikeability Instructor will help kids to enjoy this action area. Open 12-4pm.

KIDS DEMO AREA

A selection of kids specific mountain bikes will be available to try in the Expo Area. If your looking to get your kids into a healthy, action packed, fun activity this is the ideal opportunity to try before you buy. Expert advice available on correct sizing and the most suitable bike for ability and riding skills. We’ve even bikes for the under 3s, balance bikes without pedals provide a great way to get into riding, increasing confidence and balance.
